Mylan Technologies Chilled Water Central System
RTAC Air Cooled Chiller
Vertical Multi-Stage Pumps
Transdermal Patch
As part of a facility expansion, Mylan was investigating the feasibility of centralizing the chilled water system that serves both building and process loads in several buildings.
Liebert Engineering was tasked with determining system loads, followed by designing a system that would efficiently provide chilled water to hundreds of use points, yet match system flow to demand for maximum energy savings. In addition, the system had to be scalable for future expansion. Due to space constraints, the use of air cooled chillers (200 ton nominal) and primary/secondary loops provided the best fit for the application.
A new PLC based controls system monitors and adjusts the system to load follow for the maximum system efficiency.
